Every smile starts with a complimentary consultation (free of charge)!

Your new patient screening appointment will give you the opportunity to meet our team, as well as, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your complimentary consultation, Dr. Stieber will:

    • Review your dental and medical history forms.
    • Provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays, to determine if treatment is necessary.
    • Help you create a customized treatment plan.
    • Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans.

During you new patient screening appointment, we will explain everything that you will need to know about your orthodontic treatment, so that you can choose what's best for you – no strings attached. If you'd like to schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Stieber.

What happens after the new patient screening appointment?

If you do choose to receive orthodontic treatment, you will need to schedule your first appointment. Your first appointment is when Dr. Stieber will place your new orthodontic appliance. Typically, this appointment is no longer than one to one and a half hours, and then you're on your way toward your new smile!

    If treatment is needed:

If the doctor determines that treatment is needed, another appointment will be made for diagnostic records. Records consist of one or more of the following items: study casts of the teeth, photos of the face and teeth, and special orthodontic x-rays of the teeth and jaws (panoramic) and head (cephalometric). This information is used to obtain additional detailed information about the patient's problem and finalize the treatment plan discussed by the doctor.

Sometimes the doctor will recommend an additional visit or phone conference to review treatment and make sure all questions about treatment have been answered before actually placing braces.  The braces may be placed at the time of this consultation appointment if no other work needs to be completed.

    Scheduling Appointments

Visiting the orthodontist every 4–8 weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Regular checkups last between 20–40 minutes. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are scheduled around your busy schedule; so, you will spend less time in the dental chair, and more time enjoying the things you love to do.

We understand that "life happens," so if you're running late or need to reschedule, please let us know, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. When you're ready to schedule your first appointment, call our practice (425) 745-6322; we're looking forward to working with you.

Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment

It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, even during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.

    Appointment Policies

New patients should arrive 10 minutes ahead of their appointment time to fill out new patient forms. Bonding and longer appointments will be done in the mornings to allow popular time slots to be given to quicker appointments. We ask at least 48 hours notice to reschedule an appointment, as we set aside time to accommodate your specific needs. Our goal is to continually progress with your treatment. Missed appointments or numerous appointment changes will inevitably result in an extension of your treatment time.
